Abuja, Nigeria – 7 December 2025 – In a historic moment for Nigerian sports, Sylvester Phadion has achieved a stunning 4.08 seconds in the Fastest 20 Cone Slalom on Inline Skates at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, beating the existing record of 5.04 seconds set by Guo Fang (China) in 2008. This marks Nigeria’s first-ever inline skating Guinness World Record attempt, pending official verification from Guinness World Records. The attempt, part of International Civil Aviation Day celebrations, was witnessed by FAAN officials, NSC representatives, and media crews.
The GWR attempt by Sylvester Phadion aims at creating awareness about the danger of drug abuse, mental health, promoting aviation industry in Nigeria and advocating for peace and tranquility in his local community Lamurde LGA of Adamawa state which has been under repeated attacks by gunmen.

Phadion, founder of Unity Skaters Club of Nigeria with mantra SKATEMENT (Skating for Mental Health), dedicated the performance to Mental health victims,Nigerian youth, promoting discipline and excellence. The event was fully compliant with GWR guidelines, including 80 cm cone spacing and independent timing. Official submission follows immediately.
