Nigeria Tennis Number One Player, Ekpenyong Eyes Grand Slam

 

David Ekpenyong a tennis player says that he want to play all the grand slams if I can, and I’m confident that I will succeed with the help of Aurum Tennis Academy (ATA)in Abuja.

Ekpenyong made the call in an interview in Abuja ,that by the grace of God with the help of Aurum Tennis Academy (ATA) and my hard work, I hope to.

The 19 year old player said that I would like to impart to the aspiring players in the Nigerian tennis scene that they should be extremely focused and driven.

“ That nothing is impossible, and that they should take their practices and all they do seriously.

“ Every time they participate in a contest, they ought to demonstrate that they are mentally tough enough to compete and perform well since their efforts will pay off,” he said.

Nigeria would excited to play on clay courts occasionally and, of course, in other Association of Tennis professionals ( ATP) championships.

“ Of course, becoming a professional tennis player is one of my goals. “I want to play all the grand slams if I can, and I’m confident that I will succeed by the grace of God with the help of Aurum Tennis Academy (ATA) and my hard work,” he remarked.

 

Although I have numerous role models, one of my protocol’s role models is Novak Djokovic, who helps me interact with the game.

“ I basically look up to Djokovic because of his ability to handle pressure and difficult situations during matches.

“ I think about him when I am having trouble on the court. He is my role model because of this, he said .

 

so for me been inspired by other players is like a big one for me.

Being motivated by other players is really important to me, so it’s been a really difficult journey for me because I also look up to players that play better than me.

He has a career-high ITF ranking of 183 .

Nigeria will be hosting the Davis Cup World Group III Qualifier from July 15 and I will be participating in the competition and right now am practicing.

In 2023,Nigerian quintet of David Ekpenyong, Uche Oparaoji, Wilson Igbinovia, Peter Lawal and Christopher Bulus, sealed qualification to Group III in Kigali, Rwanda .
