The immediate past Secretary General of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation Alhaji Mohammed Ilerika Maigidansama has thanked the board of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation led by Dr. Daniel Igali, Controller General of Customs Alhaji Bashiru Adewale Adeniyi for their supports as he handed over the reins of the secretariat on Wednesday.
Alhaji Mohamed Maigidansanma on Wednesday afternoon, at the MKO National Stadium, Abuja handed over to Mr. Olusegun Ademisoro, the new Secretary General that was posted by the National Sports Commission NSC.
During the formal handing over ceremony, Maigidansanma commended the NSC boss led by Mallam Shehu Dikko, the director general, Hon. Bukola Olopade, the NWF President, Daniel Igali, board members and other key stakeholders for their support and immense contributions to the success of the federation during his tenure.
He highlighted some of his achievement in office to include making NWF president part of the international body, getting additional championship like the Military and Para-Military Wrestling Championship, convincing NUGA to let wrestling be part of their event.
“I want to first of all thank the Almighty Allah for keeping us alive today. I want to use the medium to also thank my president Dr. Igali for his support. The CG Customs I say thank you sir and also the board members. My assistant Abigail Ibrahim was wonderful as her support and cooperation took us this far”.
Alhaji Maigidansanma, who has been posted to the Federation of Elite Athletes Department as an Assistant Director, also called on the new Secretary General Olusegun Ademisoro to work in unity with the secretariat staff and to be diligent and hard-working”.
The new secretary-general Ademisoro promised to work hard to reposition the federation to greater height and promised to tap from Maigidansanma’s wealth of experience if the need arises.
The former Chairman of Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin, Maigidansanma, has previously worked as the Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria.
The new Secretary General of Wrestling Federation Olusegun FC Ademisoro had earlier served in Wushi-Kun fu, Fives, Kick-Boxing, Golf and AFN.
