President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his recent appointment of personalities to handle the administration of the country’s sports.
Speaking during an interview with the press at the final phase of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League, Nimrod, specifically applauded the president on the appointment of Chief Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroot Sports Development, saying that the president has shown how committed he is to the development of sports in Nigeria.
“This is the right step in the right direction. The development of sports starts from the grassroots and we need people who are rooted in the grassroot to do this.
“Chief Adeboye is a grassroot man and he has done a lot in that regard for the growth of sports. So his choice by the president is a positive one,” said engineer Nimrod.
The president believes in grassroot development and now he has a man who is doing much at the grassroot as his SSA, now we have to key into his agenda.
In addition, Nimrod, who also doubles as the President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), gave kudos to president for appointing the duo of Mallam Shehu Dikko and Honourable Bukola Olopade as the Chairman and Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
“For bringing in Mallam Shehu Dikko, who is a sport manand Bukola Olopade, another full blooded sports person, the president has taken the right step and I’m assuring him, we will not disappoint him”, the NVBF supremo added.
