NPFL U-17 Team loss To Central Football Academy As Preparation For Summer Tour Continues

As the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U17 youth team continue their preparation for the forthcoming European tour, more friendly matches have been lined up for them.

In one of the friendly matches played on Saturday, the NPFL youth team suffered a 3-1 loss to Central Football Academy of Abuja.

The NPFL youth team followed up their 2-2 draw against Assess Football Academy with the loss in the match that took place at the FIFA Goal Project of the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.

NPFL U17 Youth team have now failed to win a game in their two friendly matches played so far.

Meanwhile, Assistant Coach of the team Ken Chukwu, while reacting to the performance of his boys, said the team would be ready.

“We are still on selection process, it’s not a bad game but we lost. From where I came from, we don’t like losing but in football, you win some, you lose some”.

“Based on that, it’s a work in progress. As you can see, the team was divided after the match, some have to go while others remain in camp, that’s why the match is important.

Coach Kenny further assured that the team will be ready before they depart for Spain.

“We are not relenting in getting the best out of the team. We have started dropping some players to give others the opportunity to come in for replacement. It’s a screening process among those players we invited, we give each player 45 minutes on the pitch and after monitoring them, we retain some while others have to leave”.

NPFL U17 Youth team will embark on a tour of Europe in Spain to play against Sevilla, Atletico Madrid among other U17 Laliga youth teams in September.
