Super Eagles and SD Huesca midfielder Kelechi Nwakali believes that his current form will pave way for him again to play for senior national team, the Super Eagles in the forthcoming 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers.
The FIFA U- 17 World Cup winner made this known during an interview with journalists in Abuja.
According to him he said he is always happy to represent Nigeria anytime he is called upon to don the green white green colours of the country and also looking forward to the World Cup finals in Qatar next year.
Nwakali, who is currently contracted to SD Huesca, was last season on loan with AD Alcorcon in Spain in search of regular game where he scored 4 goals in 18 appearances.
Speaking further he said the task ahead is huge as he hopes to continue his good form this season with is parent Club SD Huesca.
The 23-year-old left Arsenal two years ago for first-team football, joining Spanish club Huesca.
A Golden Ball winner at the Under-17 World Cup in 2015, Nwakali was tipped to become the next young star at the Emirates but it didn’t quite materialise.
Speaking about his decision to leave the Gunners last year, “It was difficult for me to leave because they (Arsenal) wanted me to stay.
“But at the same time, I needed to get a place where I can call my home, where I can continue to develop my game.
“What convinced me was after the club went to the second league.
“They had the main aim to gain promotion back, they never gave up the dream to come back to the highest league, the club was still fighting to come up and promotion was achieved.
“It was a dream come through and playing in La Liga will also help to develop my game and I think I’m justified with that choice to play for Huesca
