The outstanding player. finally made his mark! Nigerian striker Yusuf Otubanjo is making waves in the Uzbekistan Super League, scoring two magnificent goals that sparked Nasaf Qarshi’s 5-0 thrashing of FC Buxoro on Wednesday evening. In just his third game, Otubanjo has opened his scoring account with a brace, helping Nasaf whip Buxoro mercilessly like a thief caught in the market. The 32-year-old didn’t even play the full match, lasting only 59 minutes. During that time, he scored the second and fourth goals before being substituted for Oybek Bozorov.

As a former goal machine in the Armenian Premier League, Otubanjo has racked up over 90 goals, so scoring is nothing new for him. This match was a complete rout, with Nasaf dominating from the start. Husayn Norchaev opened the scoring in the 13th minute, followed by Otubanjo’s brace in the 25th and 30th minutes, and Sharof Mukhitdinov’s goal in the 28th minute. After Buxoro struggled to respond, Dragan Ceran sealed the win with the fifth goal just two minutes into the second half.

This impressive 5-star performance will undoubtedly send shockwaves in the league. Nasaf currently tops the table with 46 points, and their opponents will think twice about facing them in the future. Their next league match is against Qizilqum, but they’ll face a tougher challenge in the AFC Champions League against Saudi Arabian giants Al Ahli SC.
