Our Northern Governors Need To Support Sports…. Comrade Buba

Honorable Commissioner for Sport in Borno state Comrade Saina Buba, has called on the Northern governors to embrace sport in their various state.

The commissioner made this call while speaking with journalists in Enugu during the NNL Super 8 play-off.

According to him “I want to use these medium to call on all the goverrnors in the northern state to support sport, honestly the problem of Government not supporting sports in the North has kill a lot of young talent. Let me tell you the last time we held a meeting for National council for sport the minister was asking for any state that want to host the National Sports Festival, if you can recall that  the last 3 or 4  festival has been hosted by the Southern axis, I  raised the issues between our Northern commissioner that we should have a meeting that we should support sports in the northen state he said.

Speaking further, Comrade Saina Buba said governors not supporting  sports in their various state has led to the dearth of sports in most northern state so “I am  calling  on all the Northern governors to support sports you can see all the northern team are not doing well in sports and all of the state  problems is only financial challenges and with just the support from the governors sports will thrive well he stated.

As for us in Borno, we have Prof. Babagana Zulum, I will be honest with you  there is nothing I requested from my Governor that he has not giving to me even the  challenge Cup We are playing the semi finals so we have his total support to grow sports in Borno, Buba concluded.
