The Executive Committee of the Gwagwalada Football Council has commended the Chief Executive Officer of PROSTAR International, Chief Paul Maduakor, for adding glamour and color to the finals of the Gwagwalada Football League, which was concluded at the weekend.
In an appreciation statement, the Chairman of the Gwagwalada Football Council, Ibrahim Bako, described PROSTAR International’s support as a clear demonstration of its commitment to the development of grassroots football in Nigeria. According to him, the company’s timely intervention greatly enhanced the success of the final match.
“The presence of PROSTAR in our finals added colors to our program. We only contacted them just a few days before the final, and the CEO/President did not waste time in making the materials available. This is pure evidence of someone who wants the development of football at all levels,” Bako said. “We thank him, we appreciate him, and we pray that PROSTAR will grow to become a household name in the country.”
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of the Football Council, Barrister Babatunde Akintade (Bucknor), expressed deep appreciation to PROSTAR International, noting that the company exceeded expectations with its level of support.
“I did not believe it when our Organizing Committee Chairman told me that PROSTAR International had agreed to kit the officials and provide the individual awards. When he later confirmed that the materials had been received days before the final match, my respect for the company grew even more,” Akintade stated. “They have shown that they are an outfit aiming for the sky. We sincerely appreciate PROSTAR International and will remain grateful to them.”
PROSTAR International provided individual awards for the Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper, Most Valuable Player, and Highest Goal Scorer, in addition to kitting all tournament officials.
The 2025 Gwagwalada Football League marked the 20th edition of the competition, with the final match attracting prominent football stakeholders from across Nigeria. Among those in attendance were former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, as well as several political office holders from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), underscoring the growing stature of the league.
