Akindoju, who was recently elected as vice President of the Confederation of the Africa Tennis Zone Two said the Federation has mapped out the events to prepare the players for the challenges ahead and most especially the Davis Cup which is an equivalent of football World Cup.
He added that a lot of players have risen through the ranks by virtue of their participation in various tournaments across Africa. He also said that the wheel tennis ladies look more promising to pick the Paralympic ticket as they are one of the top rated in the continent.

We put in a lot more and a couple of players joined the team and we did very well.We held a lots of juniors event , which is the major focus of the federation
“The same thing happened in the female version of the World Cup of Tennis called the Billie Jean King Cup. And that happened in Kenya and we did very well.++
“The wheelchair ladies got promoted during an event we hosted last year to the Walton event for the wheelchair here in Abuja. Actually, we’re hosting again in a couple of weeks.”
