Uncle Jide Fashikun: Five Years After, The Enigma Lives On

By Taofeek Lawal

How time flies! So it’s five years that black day January 27, 2019) that my BIG BOSS, mentor and leader, Uncle Jide Fashikun left us.

Say anything about him, write anything about him, you are very right. Baba Fashy was a perfect example of positivity, truthfulness. He was very blunt and straightforward and with Uncle Jide by your side, you get covered.

He was a great mentor to many of us, a guardian to orphans who found his shoulders to lean on, a first-class brain who was always there to analyse on politics, economy, sports and most especially his area of great strength: investigative journalism. Uncle Jide was a walking encyclopedia.

It’s sad that he died when his services were needed most but who are we mere mortals to question God.

I take solace in the fact that he’s in a better place with his Creator. I missed you BIG BOSS.
