We Are In Asaba To Unearth New  Generation Of Sporting Stars….. Olopade 

Director General  of the National Sport Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, has revealed to journalist the  mission of his ministry to Asaba for the 9th edition of the National Youth Games holding in Asaba.

Speaking in an Interview with Journalist in Asaba, the Former Sport Commissioner in Ogun state disclosed that his team are in Delta to discover the next generation of Favour Ofili, Ese Brume Blessing Oborodudu and more.

“Our Mission here in Asaba is to unearth the next big stars in  sports, and I must confess to you that the level of athletes presented by the state are making me  feel great because most of the state brought very young athletes and I know our mission in Asaba will be achieved”. he said.

Speaking further, the astute sports administrator is optimistic more talent will be discovered during the ten days events.

“We are in Asaba to discover more of Abduljabar Adama in Swimming, James Thompson Akpan in Para-Badminton, Favour Ofilli, Ese Brume and Blessing Oborodudu and the next Oshimen in football too”. Olopade enthused.

The 2025 Edition of the National Youth Games will feature over 37 sporting events, giving hope to promising skills, teamwork and determination across multiple discipline, while defending champion Delta will be looking to hold on to their crown, but will face fierce competition from equally ambitious contingents from the other participating state at the 2025 edition in Asaba.

Over 6386 athletes will compete for 36 state with Federal Capital Territory in 37 sporting events for 10 days event in Asaba.

While it will be recalled that,

Over 450 talented young athletes were identified across 36 sporting federation during the last edition in Asaba in 2024.
