We Have Learnt Our Lesson…. Samuel Umoh

The just concluded season 2023/2024 NPFL season was not a pleasant one for the people of Akwa-Ibom as the team experienced was mixed fortune, escaping Relegation on the last day of the season beating Rivers United by three goals to one to keep their Premiership status.

Speaking with journalist in Lagos the state FA chairman Samuel Umoh, is happy the team was able to remain in the league on the last day of the season.
According to him, the team has learnt its lesson and what happened in the just concluded season was a terrible experience for the team and the people of the state but we know we will be better in the coming season, he stated.
‘Our last season experience was not a good one but I can assure you that the team will rise in the coming season and we might be among the team contending for a continental spot’ he continue.
 ‘We will have to put everything that happened behind us and come back stronger in 2024/2025 season and you all will see a new Akwa United and our focus will be to win the league and not struggling to beat the drop’ the FA chairman said.
Akwa United  finished 16th with 49 points to escape the drop on the final day of the season.
