We have Put Adequate Measures Of Security, medical Ahead of NOGIG Game…. Organizer

 

No fewer than 13 companies and 1, 500 participants are expected to feature in forthcoming Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games ( NOGIG) in Abuja.

The Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Games, Dr Ifeyinwa Mojo-Eyes, made the disclosure at news conference on Wednesday in Abuja.

Mojo-Eyes said preparations are ongoing by the LOC to ensure safety and medical attention among other cases for the participants.

“For the scope of this event, we have reach out to security personnel that’s brigades personnel and we have our own medical team and personnel set up which are part of the committee.

“Safety and security are top priorities at any of our events, and we have adequate medical team that are going to be on ground at the forth coming NOGIG in Abuja.

The NOGIG games, according to her, will kickoff on April 21 to 27 in Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

“1,500 participants from 13 oil companies will participate in 13 games which will hold at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

“ The major objective of the games is for us to come together, synergize, network and most importantly is the health benefits, ” she said.

She listed the participating companies to include; the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Exxon Mobil, Shell, Chevron, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

Others are; Nigeria Liquified National Gas (NLNG) the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

The rest are; the Nigerian Downstream and Midstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Total Energies, Aradel, Seplat and Oando.

She also disclosed that hotels accomodations for all the participants in the games had already been secured by the LOC.

The theme for the 2024 game is, ‘Empower Wellness, Ignite Productivity’, it is aimed at promoting healthy workforce that will be productive at all times and give its best to its employer.

NAN also reports that during the last edition of NOGIG held in 2020 in Lagos, NNPC Limited emerged the overall winner of the tournament, carting home 48 laurels, which include 13 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze medals.
