With Motivation Eagles Can Shock Mexico… Eguavoen

Eguavoen,  the Technical Director of  Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who will be in charge of the home-based Eagles just for the friendly game against the Gerardo Martino’s boys

The USA 1994 world cup veteran  has been put in charge of the Super Eagles just for the friendly game between Nigeria and Mexico billed for in USA.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, the former Gent of Belgium defender says there are huge potentials in the Nigeria local league and that the match against Mexico is as chance to showcase the players to the world.

Speaking further coach Austin Eguavoen rhetorically said that Nigeria can’t shy away from any friendly games regardless of which team we presented.

 “We can’t, shy away from any friendly matches regarding who we field in the game, but I can say to you the boys are determined despite the fact that a lot of people don’t give them chance and from the comment I get from the boys they are good to go”

While also explaining the absence of Joseph Yobo from the team who is meant to take charge of the Super Eagles B team.

” some people went to town saying I am interested in handling the team again, I  must correct the impression I am not interested in coaching Super Eagles and naturally Joseph Yobo is suppose to take charge of the team but he has family issues to attend to, so I am mandated to take charge of the team by virtue of my position as the Technical Director of the Federation so it automatically my duty and when your employer gives you directives you have to step to it except you want to lose your job”.

I want to use these noble medium to tell those who think, I want to take the job of the Super Eagles to  do their research well before going to the media when your employer gives u directive you can’t say no  and if you say no what comes after that you will be queried and you can be fired he said.

You must also know that from the first day we resumed training, coach Gernot Rohr has always been around to observe and I must tell you he keep giving me his observation about the boys.
