Imeh, Oyinlomo Target  N1m CBN Tennis Prize Money After Davonotch Wins

Davnotch National Open Tennis champion, Joseph Imeh has his eyes fixed on this year’s Central Bank of Nigeria CBN tennis championship less than few days after winning the former.
 Imeh who defeated Nonso Madueke 6/4 6/4 in the final of the Davnotch said his target is to win the N1million prize money as the tournament entred the main draw yesterday.
“My target is to win the N1million jackpot and go on to prepare myself for the Davis Cup tournament in June.
“I have prepared hard for this tournament and there is nothing that will stop me from winning it,” the dreadlocked player said.
The battle in the men’s category will surely be between him and Madueke who put up a good performance last week.
For the female players, the race for the N1million prize money will be between Oyinlomo Quadri, Sarah Adegoke and Marylove Edwards.
Oyinlomo won the maiden edition of Davnotch last weekend by defeating Adegoke in the final.
In the wheelchair events, the likes of Alex Adewale, Wasiu Yusuf, Kafayat Omisore and Kemi Oluwasegun are expected to light up the courts in Abuja for another one week.
Tennis players participating in the 43rd edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) National Senior Tennis Championship will smile to the bank with a whopping N13.1 million prize money.
‘The 43rd edition of the Championship is special one as the Prize Monies for both the Men and Women Singles position has been increased from the previous edition from N700,000 to N1,000,000 for each winners.
While men singles will get N4.7 million of the prize reward, men doubles will get N1.34 million, ladies singles will win 3.1 million, ladies doubles, N1.35 million, wheelchair men’s singles and ladies singles will be awarded N1.5 million, totaling N13.1 million in prize money
