Today in the ancient city of Ilorin, some Kwarans will be honoured in the state for their various contributions to the development of the state by the Kwara Tabloid.h
The ceremony billed for 4:00pm at the Kwara Hotel is expected to attract the crème de la crème in the north central state.
Some of those shortlisted for awards in the annual event include

, Comrade Bisi Fakayode the SA (Labour) to the Kwara State governor, Broadcast magazine presenter Oyin Ajirotutu Zubair.
Others to be honoured include Princess Bukola Babalola, Colonel Ademola Lawal (Rtd), Barrister Salman Jawondo and Dr. Saliu Ajia
Yet on the list are Dr. Aliyu Jimada, late Alhaji Babatunde Kassum who was a former Commissioner for Education in the state, Alhaji Lukman Mustapha, SIJ Foundation of Shola Idiagbon, Mr. Yemi Adegoke, Prof Chris Odetunde of Kwasu and Dr. Rasheed Yusuf of University of Abuja.
Speaking with www.gongnews.net, Chief Executive Officer of Kwara Tabloid, the organisers of the ceremony, Mr Tunde Bakare said, “this is part of our modest contributions to tell our people that despite their magnificent and most times silent contributions to the growth and development of the society, some other folks are watching them. The choice of these individuals was very transparent, fair and reliable.”
Former Bauchi and Osun States’ Military Administrator, Colonel Theophilus Bamigboye (Rtd) is expected to chair the event while Alhaja Kuburat Kassum, a public administrator is expected to be the chairlady.
