President of Para Athletic Olawale Etti, on Friday said he will work with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to develop the sport in Nigeria.
According to reports the newly elected Etti from South West
emerged the president of the Para Athletics with 10 voters unopposed.
Etti said to have an effective results as a leader he must work cordially with the ministry to achieve his desire goal.
“We want to take para athletic to the next level which mean it must be a serious and dedicated work to success.
“We need to develop and improve on the sports with constant competition so that athletes can compete in Africa championship and in the paralympic games.
“There is ability in disability , our athletes need the necessary support to go for competition and win medals like they always do.
“We all known that in Nigeria para sports athletes always bring more medals for the country,” he said
In all a total of seven Para sports federation were supposed to have their election today only six Para Sports federation election was conducted.
The Federation are Para athletics, Para Powerlifting, Para-soccer, Para swimming, sittingvolleyball,
and Amputee Football.
