The Chairman of Plateau State Football Association, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has commended the Jos South Local Government Area Football Team for beating other local government areas from both Plateau, Kaduna and Bauchi States to be crowned champions of the 2024 Operation Safe Haven Peace Football Tournament.
Hon. Suleiman Kwande who’s a Guest of Honour at the STF finals between Team Jos South of Plateau State and Team Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi State at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium opines: “This is a victory for not only Jos South LGA but Plateau State as a whole. This victory reemphasize the fact that Plateau State still remains the hub of football not only in the North but Nigeria as a whole. Seeing one of my local government football team emerging champions is no surprise to me and this is a Jos South team that made it to the last 8 of the just concluded 2023 Plateau State Governor’s Cup.”
Hon. Kwande concludes: “I must at this juncture commend the STF for using this very viable tool called Football to promote peace and unity amongst the youths.”
Jos South LGA Football Team, Plateau State, defeated Tafawa Balewa LGA Football Team, Bauchi State, 3-1 at the finals played at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium to emerge champions.
