Stop Atrocities In Irigwe Chiefdom. Ezekiel Bini

National President Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM) Ezekiel Bini, has called on all those troubling the peace of Irigwe nation to desist from it, speaking during the Easter celebration.

Said, “We have forgiven our  enemies but we can’t forget their atrocities in the Chiefdom”. “They must stop. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ offers humanity hope and assurance of the release from the condemnation and prison of sin; offers us eternal life and joy of salvation. may the blessings and significance of this celebration be your portion and your redemption heritage in Jesus name.”

The Zerechi festival is a significant cultural heritage that can’t be separated from an Irigwe people, this ushers us into farming season with good harvest.

Today, we remember the extra judiciary killing of 5 Rigwe Youths killed by Mobile police officers in Miango, During 2012 Zerechi festival in the Chiefdom, many others were tortured and maltreated. 9 years of silence of justice to Rigwe people, it is a treat to human rights, (Freedom of Religious beliefs, Peaceful assembly and cultural practice was not respected)

Rigwe land is a home for everyone and home of peace to everybody, Nigeria authority to invest on the cultural practice for good agricultural produce not sending law enforcement officials to killed those practicing the culture.

Nigeria authorities must ensure every rights are respected as articulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other International Human Rights Law.

We also use this medium to call on the attention of Fulani tribesmen to stop grazing their cattle without proper permission from the land owners, as well with an approval from the Rigwe traditional council.

This will help in reducing planned attacks by Fulani tribesmen using grazing as a means to killed or destroyed farm produce.

We appeal to International Communities, Human rights organizations, INGOs to come to the aid of Rigwe who faced handicap of injustice over the years and also United Nation special repertoire on religious freedom or belief and special repertoire on Extrajudicial killings to investigate on series of injustice in Rigwe Chiefdom.
